If you're going, to...New Hampshire

I just saw an infomercial for some Time-Life folk music collection.  One of the songs was Scott McKenzie's "If You're Going To San Francisco."  I don't know how many "hippies" or liberals or whatever actually went to San Francisco, but I think it's safe to say that San Francisco is one of the most, if not the most, liberal centers in America.

Anyway, there should be a song to get people to move to New Hampshire.  Like, instead of:

"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair."

there could be a line:

"If you're going to New Hampshire, be sure to bring your copy of the Constitution."

Well, obviously that would sound nerdy and probably wouldn't make a good song.  But it would be cool to popularize this liberty movement somehow.  Then, thirty years from now, there can be infomercials and everyone will think back, "Wow, that New Hampshire song really meant something."

http://www.state.nh.us/nhinfo/song.html

This page lists the NINE offical and/or honorary state songs.

Also, I mentioned in the thread about talking with a NH accent that one of the best examples is Fritz Wetherbee, who is a co-host of the WMUR Channel 9 show New Hampshire Chronicle. Fritz has a website:

http://www.fritzwetherbee.com/

here you can view and listen to lots of video and audio clips of Fritz. Fritz' segment has a theme song that goes something like "I'll see you in New Hampshire, so leave a light in the window for me.." which you can purchase a copy of via a link at this page:

Okay, I got in touch with the fellow who supplies Fritz his theme. He has a CD of 5 songs about New Hampshire from the olden days that he sells, I'm going to try to get the FSP store to sell it.

He sent me the words to the chorus of Fritz's theme song:

"There's Old Fashioned Home In New Hampshire,
with a light in the window for me .
every mile of the way is a ribbon of gray
winding me back to where I should be.
All my roadways are crossed and I fee like I'm lost
but deep in my dreams I can see
there's an Old Fashioned Home in New Hampshire
with a light in the window for me."
