Jesse James Hardy lives on a 160 acre plot of land in the Everglades. He developed his land essentially by himself--he paved his own road, has his own generator, and paid off his mortgage years ago. The state of Florida is considering using the force of eminent domain to forcibly remove him from his land.
I saw a segment about him on CNN, so it's becoming a national news story. You can read more here:
Hhhhhhmmmmmmm...... It might work, but the story's not quite huge yet, but getting there.... Maybe Tim C knows of some local FL groups working on this?
