Michael, thanks for the info.

BTW, I borrowed your book from the local library, and liked it so much I ordered my own copy today!  I've been able to apply it to help smooth out a couple problems I've been having lately, and I found the chapter on procrastination extremely helpful. Thanks!

I'm pulling for Mount Liberty (with or w/out Mt. Flume).

I think you ought to consider Mounts Lafeyette and Lincoln instead. They are near Mount Liberty but offer much nicer views. The trail connecting the two peaks is all above treeline and offers spectacular views the whole way.

I'm sure you guys are probably long past taking applications for being sponsored, but could someone rent a campsite for Randall Wolfe (GhostCow)? He'll be arriving from his walk just barely in time for the fest. He'll have a tent and sleeping bag (there are a couple places along his walk where he'll need to camp out). Barring that, I suppose he could share Varrin's room, although I don't know how compatable the two of them would be.
Also, I'm a poorercupine who would love to be able to go. After paying for my trip to DC to work the FSP booth at the NORML conference, I can barely afford the trip I'm planning to the LP convention, let alone the porc fest (I procrastinate, I know). If you're still looking for people to help sponsor, I'd be happy to go.

My second bed is still available.  I had one candidate but it appears unlikely he'll be able to come.  If Randall Wolfe has been *walking* to NH, he'll probably need a shower when he gets there. Wink  Seriously, though, someone really needs to take me up on this other part of the room.  I don't need the whole thing to myself and the hotel is *sold out* so this is really the best accomodation available...

One of the porc's has just reserved 2 campsites for folks who would like to attend the Fest, but might be a little short of cash.  Please don't let a little thing like cash stop you!  Please drop me a note, and we can get you hooked up! Cheesy

Varrin: So Ghostcow can borrow your shower once he gets there? Grin

Actually, since he's bringing a tent and sleeping bag, the free campsites will suit him well.

There's a whole other aspect to this, George...

"Freestaters climb Mt. Liberty" makes a news story....

"Freestaters climb Mt. LaFeyette" doesn't.  Wink

and we're not even going to go into Mt. Lincoln... Wink

I just got an out-of-the-blue interview with Kate McCann at associated press the other day, and she asked me about upcoming events... Among other things, I told her about the climb up Mt. Liberty, and she loved it!

Newsworthy events are free advertising.... This is a perfect event for free advertising.... Cheesy

Yes, he can use my shower.  If he want's a bit of privacy for a while, the hotel room might be nicer than the 'public' restroom.

As for the mountain, I definitely favor Mt. Liberty now given the 'marketing' opportunity.  And I've heard it's nice anyway Wink

Oops; I wasn't even considering that. Yes, the PR value makes Liberty a good choice.

Mount Lincoln was just about the most beautiful hike I've ever done. A rose by any other name...

I am going to do my best to make this festival...i never seem to fit a vacation into my budget. But this is more important than that.  I would so appreciate a free place to throw down a sleeping bag, and a cheap bagged lunch (great plan to start young entrepreneurs!)  I'm hoping I'll be able to help by driving Ghostcow's car up from Kentucky for him, but I could sure use a little help making it back to Tennessee afterward if someone has a little room in their car.  I'm really friendly, and if you're not i'll just focus on being nonobtrusive... Damn Question #2.   Will there be FSP T-shirts and such for sale at the fest or do I need to order one?

Plans include having FSP merchandise for sale. In addition to regular FSP T-shirts, we hope to be offering a special Porcupine Festival 2004 memento-type shirt.
