Planning a visit from California
« on: May 18, 2013, 06:59:25 pm »

Hello!  My name is James.  I'm from California and am hoping to make it out to see at least a couple days of the Porcupine festival and potentially feel out how feasible making a permanent move would be.  Any recommendations for lodging and transportation to and from the festival grounds would be wonderful.  It is worth mentioning that I am on a tight budget, so any ideas on how to make my dollars go as far as possible would appreciated as well.  Also, I am a bartender by profession, how is the bar scene in New Hampshire?

Welcome!  Smiley

For transportation, there is a rideshare site set up where you can post a "ride wanted" and see which rides people are offering. If you're flying in, your best bet is probably to fly into Manchester NH and arrange to share a ride from there.

For lodging, the lowest cost option is to share a campsite. If you use Facebook, the PorcFest group would be a good place to find someone willing to share campsite space.

The Seacoast area might be good for bar scene... Portsmouth has lots of good bars and restaurants. Manchester and the other major cities may be good too, depending on what kind of situation your'e looking for.
