Keep in mind that if you decide side step in to education you almost certainly will need to get state certified, which includes mandatory student teaching at a public school, even if you have no plans to teach in a public PK/K program as all the education programs in the state require certification for graduation. |

New Hampshire didn't used to have public kindergarten. The democrats created in when a number of them were elected during the anti-Iraq war backlash. Parents used to send their kids to private kindergartens. The vast majority of them are still in business and are still used by many New Hampshire parents. So, I would expect that there would be plenty of jobs for nanny or daycare/preschool positions. I have a friend that is a nanny for a family in Boston. Because property and taxes are so expensive in Boston, both parents often work and a large number of families hire such nannies. If you wanted to be a nanny for a private wealth family and live in New Hampshire it should be possible. Many of the more expensive and exclusive neighborhoods in Massachusetts are in the north eastern part of the state (an easy commute from southern New Hampshire). |

I think you mean mandated public kindergarten.
And the State Dems weren't elected based on wars that they had no influence over.
They got elected because the previous Republican-majority Legislature took a top-down approach to determining the State's cost of educational mandates.

The polls were all pretty clear at the time of that election: the sentiment of the voters who voted "D" that election was overwhelmingly one of "we're sick of the GOP's wars, so we're going to vote for Democrats across the board." |

So what about the Independents that didn't vote 'D' across the board?
What do you make of the fact that my district, which has had a Republican State Rep for over a decade, now has two seats and couldn't even find someone willing to run in their party? What does that 'poll' tell you?

Most in NH are undeclared, so the only way for a party to sweep, necessitates lots of undeclared voters voting for that party's candidates in large numbers. What do you make of the fact that my district, which has had a Republican State Rep for over a decade, now has two seats and couldn't even find someone willing to run in their party? What does that 'poll' tell you? Not much about the subject, since you're talking now, not several years in the past... |
