I hope to attend, but I hate to do it alone
« on: June 07, 2012, 05:50:08 pm »

I really I hope I can get my shit together well enough to get there this year.  I really, really need to get away from New Jersey for a moment.

Because Lisa won't be coming with me this year.  She died May 25th, the day before my 57th birthday.

Complications after a successful operation.  Shit happens.

I was sober for a year and a half.  I'm not now.

Geez, Ward, I'm terribly sorry to hear that.

I won't be at PF this year, so if you do make it, I won't see you there. Some other time soon, I hope.

Hello Ward.  We'll have space on our site for another tent if you like.  We'll be there June 21-24.  Hope it works out for you.  Sounds like being around good energy would be good.  Smiley

I've posted a more specific bulletin about this at

http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=25346.0

and am directing its traffic to this thread.  Best wishes to you Ward, and I hope you do come so we can at least make a clumsy attempt at cheering you up.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Ward.

I'm going to this porcfest again, having just moved to NH last September. My brother has flown out from Colorado to go with me, and we also have one other person sharing our site, will be there just Friday and Saturday nights. I still have one additional space on my site as well.

I think you should come, Ward. Maybe do some chili again. It would be good to spend some time with friends after your loss.

I'm here.  RV site 140.  Accompanied by the lady who introduced me to Lisa 20 years ago.  (My first wife).

I didn't bring gear to cook chili.  Not feeling inspired.  Hopefully by this time next year I'll be cooking chili full-time in New Hampshire, probably from a truck.

We brought Lisa's ashes with us.  After Porcfest on the way south, we'll scatter her from one of the Kangamagus overlooks facing the Presidential Range.

Ashes were scattered from just below the Mount Washington summit facing the rest of the Presidential Range.  Where they'll be caught by the 200mph winds and spread across the forest below.

With that closure and with Lisa's special cat with Mom in Manchester, I can start getting business done, dump this house and move up home and sell chili.

I'm glad that plan worked out, Ward. When do you anticipate being able to move up?

If the gods are kind' I'll be up there and in business before the next Porcfest.  If they aren't kind (and for some reason they don't like antitheists) I'll be up there and in business about the same time but without Naomi.  She loves that 246 acres she and Michael bought up in St. Lawrence county NY, but it snows 30 or so feet annually and I don't see her shoveling that much -- plus the land is damned near flat, it's pretty country but nothing to rival New Hampshire.

Has the date been set for next year?  Naomi wants to do the next Porcfest but she wants a motel room and I suspect all of those will be reserved before August.
