I am starting a job in Merrimack and will be moving my family of 6 here in June. I am going to look at rental houses now, but I would like to hear suggestions from any of y'all. I would prefer to stay within a 30 minute drive of Merrimack, but I will consider farther for the right house.
What kind of things are you looking for in your ideal location? The southern (Nashua) towns have far more jobs & shopping available but Manchester has more liberty activists. Merrimack itself has some really good schools (including one of the state's charter schools) and scores much better then Nashua or Manchester in school results.
If you have the credit (and deposit) to buy then do so in the next 9 months or so, some prices are down to 50% of their property tax assessed value due to all the foreclosures so some insanely good deals to be had. Hudson, NH has one of the lowest property tax rates in the southern part of the state and is still close to everything.
