Quick question:  is it better from a purely fsp standpoint to get the bill killed before it becomes law, or react to it after the fact?
From where I sit, I think if I were a NM resident I'd be inclined to stay and fight, and thus not move to NH.  So, while good for the broader cause of freedom, perhaps not the most effective way to recruit for the fsp?
Or are we aiming for people outside the issue just to see us as a shining beacon in contrast to NM?
It's just hard for me to come to grips with encouraging people to abandon the fight for freedom where they already are, but then tell them to come join the fight where we are.  Know what I mean?

Yup. That is why we want to look at whether this bill gets resurrected. Waking people up to it is fine. If NM people want to organize opposition to it, we support that. At the same time that we are educating people about anti-liberty actions in their own home states or towns, we are informing them of an alternative should they lose their battle.

Blefuscu,

I did a news search on google, and came up with an article quoting the Governor's opinion.  He said he'd like to see more ignition interlocks being used, but wouldn't pass it because it punished all drivers.
I think my search was "ignition interlock" "new mexico"

Regards,
Ian

"If this catches on, I'll be moving to NH."

A person on my home forum wrote this. Maybe I can teach him the Philosophy of Liberty.

The issue is not good for the FSP's ads, IMHO.  However, if MT was selected (where it is still legal to drink and drive), this would have been a great issue Grin
