Hello, I'm new and found this place. I think it is an awesome idea. I was wondering how many people have moved so far? Or how many have pledged to move? Basically, so far, how big is this? If there a place that tracks the number? Sorry if I missed it somewhere. I'm greatly impressed by this movement.

Marcos, there are approximately 1,000 FSP participants in New Hampshire. They have made incredible positive contributions to the economy, culture, and politics of the state. Why don't you join them? Come visit NH and meet some of the amazing activists here. You won't want to leave. Many folks come to the multi-day Liberty Forum (March) or Porcupine Freedom Festival (June) to tour the state and meet friends of the FSP.

Marcos, this is the forum associated with http://freestateproject.org/ . Here you will find the personal opinions and conversations of the members and friends of the Free State Project. If you go the main page (link above) you will see at the top right side of the page a counter tracking the joiners and movers. Check out the rest of the page for the official news about the project.

The actual number of movers is probably well in excess of 2,000, if not over 3,000. I, for one, have found plenty of folks in my area who moved up because of the FSP, but never actually signed up.

There are not over 2000 or 3000 movers.

The actual number of movers is probably well in excess of 2,000, if not over 3,000. I, for one, have found plenty of folks in my area who moved up because of the FSP, but never actually signed up. There are not over 2000 or 3000 movers. Definitely not. It's more than 1000, given the number who've moved, but never notified the FSP after they did so. But it's closer to 1500, and probably still under that point. Which is actually a better selling point than a high number. If 1000-1500 can have this kind of effect, imagine what 2000-3000 movers could accomplish, once we actually hit that point... Imagine what size wave 5000 could create... Consider the impact if we even reach halfway to the 20k goal, and get 10k to move here. Some who've moved have just disappeared into the woodwork - the places they came from were so bad, that once they move here and tasted the freedom in NH, they decided it was good enough for them, and didn't feel the need to work for more freedom. Others (a small number, but they exist) have moved here and ended up having a negative effect. Take all that into account, and it's really more like 500-800 effective movers. The impact the FSP has had on NH, is really the impact of only that number. If we hit 20k signers, and only 10k move, and only half of them end up having a positive effect, we're still talking about something on the order of 10 times the effect that's already happened. And an effective 5,000 additional liberty activists is more than enough of a catalyst to tip the scales, here. They aren't enough to control a sate-wide election. They aren't enough to single-handedly build a working counter-economy. They aren't enough to take over. But they are enough to wake folks up, and start a chain reaction. The FSP could not "take over" NH, even if all 20k came here, and all were dedicated activists, but only did their own thing. Give me 5,000 dedicated activists who will work with locals and get them involved, and I'll hand you liberty on a silver platter... The FSP isn't a take-over. The FSP is just a catalyst, for the ingredients that are already here in NH. Joe

At least 2,000 people have moved to New Hampshire because of the FSP.
And that's a very conservative estimate. I've done the doorbelling and outreach within the state--even identifying myself as one. Every 50-100 households, I find another "moved here because of the FSP" or something similar to that.
Of course, that's just been in Manchester and along the border with Mass, but that's a huge bunch of people. How many actually signed up here? Not too many.

Joe's numbers and analysis are much much much truer than Max's... there are not 2000 movers.
I will say that if someone is 'known' in the FSPer the usually do end up changing their status so that we can figure out who moved.. but there are some who move and 'disappear' as Joe mentioned (which is fine)

If there a place that tracks the number? Welcome MarcosP! The number of participants and movers are tracked on the main FSP home page... www.freestateproject.orgThe numbers are in the top right corner of the page.

If, by "movers," you are counting the goal number of people who've moved to New Hampshire because of the FSP, then I would figure 2-3,000 movers, Bassein my experience here. If you mean people who've signed the SOI and updated their address (whether or not they've moved somewhere else since then), then that's a different story.

I'm 100% serious. I've doorbelled in both Manchester and the seacoast area, and I've found more people who moved without signing up than those who have.
As an aside, I'm always surprised how little mention there is about Friends of the FSP. They've been just as active as anyone else, IMX.

I bet maxx is not totally off base. You'd be surprised how many people are 'influenced' by a project like FSP without signing up. I know at least a few in Portsmouth.
Still, if they're not involved enough to sign the SOI, then should we really be counting them as part of the Project?

I bet maxx is not totally off base. You'd be surprised how many people are 'influenced' by a project like FSP without signing up. I know at least a few in Portsmouth. Folks have been moving here for liberty-minded reasons, since before the FSP was even a concept, let alone a project. There are still more movers per year who haven't heard of the FSP, than who have. That's part of why NH is so great, and why it made such a great choice for the FSP. Still, if they're not involved enough to sign the SOI, then should we really be counting them as part of the Project? No. There are already folks moving here. The question was how many movers the FSP was responsible for, not how many liberty-minded folks have moved here over the years. Joe

Technically, the original OP asks how many 'members' there are, not how many movers. Since only Board Members are counted as members, movers are not. We're only pariticipants or just movers.
The other issue is both official Friends of the FSP and locals who are helping the effort out who aren't signed up anywhere either.
Keep New Hampshire New Hampshire.
