No.
Nor must you register a gun brought into the state.
Nor is there any license for purchasing them.
Nor do you need permission to carry it loaded in the open.
You *do* need a license for Concealed Carry. And the FEDS have rules about crossing state lines....but NH wont care if you cross the line with it. Keep in unloaded in the trunk and dont speed. End of discussion.

And if you ever get pulled over: "I have nothing to say." and "I refuse consent to any search."

We're in need of volunteers to help out with Freedom Expo. PM one of the organizers (like me) if you'd like to help. "The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property." Freedom Expo is at Trinity Parish House, Seabrook, April 27, 2013! (right next to the Post Office)

Most of the N'Hampsha cops are good people. Even here, though...

I have no doubt, but they still work for the 'enemy' of the people, work to enforce tyrrany. I am never nice, never give any information, never answer questions with anything but questions, and seek every way possible to make their jobs more difficult.

Most. With the notable exclusion of those cops in Nashua. They are a bunch of bad-asses. But I've taken them on and survive their pathetic retaliatory tactics over the years. They leave me alone now. But I have not forgotten them. Just have other priorities to deal with for the moment. And after their best attempts to get rid of me, I still remain in Nashua. They are NOT going to chase me away from this lovely small city that is more like a large town than it is a city. When the time comes, they will be sorry they messed with this one particular Porcupine.

I've explicitly heard "the cops are good people and here to protect me" more in New Hampshire than any other state now. Startin' to boggle my mind...

My guess - people are more likely to know them personally, know their families, live down the street, etc.

Nor do you need permission to carry it loaded in the open. Unless you're in a vehicle. In which case it doesn't matter if it's duct-taped to your forehead (colorful imagery courtesy of Penny Dean) - they still demand that you get a license if it's loaded (unloaded, it doesn't matter). You *do* need a license for Concealed Carry. Only if it's loaded. Concealed carry of an unloaded pistol or revolver does not require a license. Also, the restrictions apply to pistols and revolvers (which NH does not define exactly the same way that the Feds do, so read the RSA's). Concealed carry of long guns, even loaded, is not legal. Carrying a long gun, loaded, in a vehicle violates some fish&game poaching law, so it's illegal, whether or not one has a concealed pistol license. Joe
