Questions about Rogers, PF 2010
« on: March 04, 2010, 06:45:42 pm »

Hello,

I have never been camping before in my life; never stayed at a campground/RV site; and I am no outdoorsman by any stretch of the imagination.  However, I would like to make the long drive from Virginia and come to porcfest 2010 this summer.  I've emailed and called Rogers but have not yet received a response.  Just need to know if the cabin or park model rentals have any A/C, TV, Micro/Fridge, or if I should just plan on booking at the motel.  A tent is out of the question as my girlfriend has some allergy issues.  Also, if anybody has stayed there, what is the overall condition of the motel?  Is it clean/decent or are we looking at a roach motel situation?  Any info. would be appreciated and I'm looking forward to meeting some of you there this summer.

Thanks.

We stayed in the motel at Roger's during last year's PorcFest.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Not a roach motel and I'm pretty sure there was a TV AC and and microwave and fridge, but we didn't use anything in the room during our stay (too much went on during that weekend!).  There was definitely all of the components of a proper bathroom: shower/tub, sink, and toilet in the room.  Overall a very comfortable place to stay.

The folks at Roger's are wintering wherever they winter.....so they do not answer but will return your call. I;ve heard no complaints from anyone who stayed in the motel....although I would think it books up quickly.

Maybe, but I've never seen it, other than motel rooms and cabins.  However, most people use their or a friend's RV/Camper/auto/motel room/cabin for that.

Rogers does not have storage lockers.

For those with allergies in Virgina.
Lancaster NH is about 3 weeks behind in terms of when things bloom up here.  We get much more tree pollen and mold allergens than Richmond Virginia.
NH doesn't get the thick layer of green pollen that Richmond VA does.  The rooms do have air conditioning.  Many a Pregnant lady has taken refuge in them.
If you want a little more room check and see if they have any mobile homes for rent.  I know they have a few and they do book quickly.

Right now: http://www.freestateproject.org/festival/

The campground is already reserved and you can buy early bird tickets for $20 each (for another day or so at least).

Where can you buy tickets?  I don't see an option for that in the link you provided.

Don't forget to make your campsite/hotel reservations at Roger's Campground too (you have to tell them you're with PorcFest or they'll tell you they're full).  http://www.rogerscampground.com/
