I"m not a minarchist, but what do you think about having someone from Law Enforcement Against Prohibition www.leap.cc speak? They are a group of former and current law enforcment (inculding ex dea, etc) that are for drug legalization. I certainly think ending the war on drugs would be a big step towards minarchy. I've exchanged emails with one of the co-founders who happens to live in the Boston, MA area. He was undercover narc for 20 years and now preaches about how the drug war is a complete waste and very harmful because it is at the root of all the violence (not to mention it cost a trillioin bucks and can't even keep drugs out of max security prisons lol). They have a free 12 min video about 1/2 way down the front page of their website on the right hand side, might take a few minutes to load. The main speaker is the guy I exchanged emails with, he sent me a copy of the typical speech he gives. Liberty Forum 1 and 2 they had a leap member speak the 1st year I think the speaker was Jack Cole and the 2nd year I think it was Peter Christ. They were both great speakers and I realize that for a LEO joining LEAP can be hard because they finally realize the truth that everything they did in the efforts of the War on Drugs was all for nothing.

For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn't have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking. -Stephen Hawking

I would like to suggest contacting Dr. Jim Lark. He was the chairman of the national Libertarian Party 2000-2002, and is currently a professor at the University of Virginia. I've met him from a university tour he did of the big Florida universities and can attest he is a top notch strategist and philosopher, plus an all around fun guy to spend a night at the bar with. He might not be "celebrity" or a crowd maker, but I bet he'd be willing to share some knowledge and experience for a modest fee.
I haven't talked to him or really kept up since 2005 or so, and I'm unsure about his feelings towards the FSP, but if you are looking for real (non-Penn&Teller/Drew Carey) people with some national political experience give him a ring.
Edit: Might be considered a politico by some? Who cares XD

Michael Shermer, hands down. Denis Leary would be good, esp. if he could sing "The Asshole Song"-a libertarian anthem.

I second the call for Peter Schiff... he is solid, and could contribute a strong economic/finance element to the forum. Also, Peter lives in Connecticut so it's not far for him. Or, if we were really ambitious we could get his father on Skype video for a presentation on tax protesting from prison =) THERE's a patriot.

Peter was offered a spot last year and I have been dealing with his staff this year... but the slots are all full right now.
