Visiting Early December
« on: November 06, 2009, 03:27:18 pm »

Hi Porcs!

I've got a business meeting in Boston from 12-4 to 12-8 and I wanted to come into town a few days early to check out NH and the FSP. I wasn't sure how feasible public transportation (train, bus etc) is from Manchester to Boston or how get from Manchester to Keene, so I thought I'd check first before I get my hopes up. At this point I'd be open to doing as much as I can to meet porcs and see a little of NH, so I'm very open to recommendations.

This is my very rough plan:
Arrive Manchester Wednesday 12-2 in the morning (red eye flight).
do stuff.
Sleep somewhere (any recommended motels/hostels/generous people?)
do more stuff
sleep again
depart from Manchester to Boston via early morning bus on 12/4

in the "do stuff" department I'd like to check out Keene and any other high-porc area, mainly to meet people and check out the local flavor. I'm really open to whatever.

Thank in advance for any help!
Nick

Come on out to Social Sundays if you get a chance.  Keep in mind that the event may be changing locations again, so check http://calendar.freekeene.com to get the latest info before you come.

Be sure to check out porcmanor.com for places to stay.  There are tons in Manchester, and it's a great city for scoping out the Live Free or Die state.  Be sure and check out the seacoast while you're here.  It's one of the best parts of the country to live, and offers easy access to everything from Portland to Boston.

We're in need of volunteers to help out with Freedom Expo.  PM one of the organizers (like me) if you'd like to help.
"The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property." Freedom Expo is at Trinity Parish House, Seabrook, April 27, 2013! (right next to the Post Office)

For Manchester - Boston the Boston Express bus runs daily from downtown Manchester to South Station several times a day only $13 one way or $20 round trip a day. Not sure about out to Keene although I'm sure if you ask around someone can give you a ride .

Since you'll be here on a Wednesday, you should go to the mixer in Dover (Seacoast area liberty group).  In fact, I'll plan to give you a ride from Manchester to the event, which is about 45 minutes from Manch.  That meetup is a great opportunity to meet 20-30 liberty folks at one time and get an earful about the Free State Project, its people, and its successes.
