Heh, when I looked at that, first thing I said to myself was, that’s almost exactly 1% of the cost of the house… in other words, in a hundred years, you just re-bought the house from the bloody State!

I know it's been a while and the MLS listing is expired, so presumably this home sold, but I wanted to make some comments anyway.
First, the address is very appealing - I am sure we on this forum will be very interested to hear about it if something else comes up like this. This little town, Freedom, appears to have a couple of other good street names, based on my search on mapquest. The names appear to be related to the Revolutionary War, and some of them do denote violence, so obviously we would not be interested in a house on those streets. For example, near Liberty Lane are the following streets: Independence Drive, Fife and Drum Way, Flintlock Ln, Powder Horn Ln, and Patriots Way. Across the main road there is another good name: Peaceful Way.
Second: this town does seem to be rather remote - by Ossipee Lake, east of Plymouth clear over by the Maine border. Wolfeboro and maybe Conway are the closest larger towns around. Only good for someone who wants to get a job or run a business in a small town, or works online, or doesn't need an income for a while. However, it would be good for some people, undoubtedly. But that would be a consideration for someone buying it as an investment property. I'm not interested in investment property myself.
Thanks for posting it anyway, Mark. Sorry I just started posting on the forum recently and just saw this today. I agree that the address definitely has a ring to it.
