Topic: Many Activists Arrested in Keene (Read 1323 times)

Dave Ridley appeared today for the government people's arraignment for recording the government people without permission. As a counter, SamIAm, one of the newer movers to Keene, went in recording. As a result, the government people also arrested him in which case Sam refused to cooperate with his arrest. They then manhandled him, which caused him to scream. The screams encouraged fellow activists to stick around. The police people then began issuing citations and when more activists refused to cooperate, began physically dragging activists off in handcuffs. VIDEO (WTF??? Why can't I insert a Video?) Luckily, a member of the Keene Sentinel was also part of the group (though not detained, arrested or ticketed) and they'll be covering the story tomorrow. They issued a little blurb on their site: http://keenesentinel.com/articles/2009/04/13/news/local/free/doc49e38ebe6667c861873640.txt

That sucks. Dave Ridley is a good guy and important to the whole effort.
I am actually surprised that an incident like this took so long to come about. The cops and courts in Keene have a rep for being pretty nasty, partly undeserved. (I've met some Keene area cops, and they weren't too bad, overall.)
This is why I've long advocated political action (even for anarcho-caps and CD folk) to remove bad pols, administrators, judges, police chiefs, etc, just as CNHT has been doing at the local level for years. If bad people are tossed out of government before they can make their way up the political ladder, we don't have them as enemies later on. Some of the worst politicians in New Hampshire who are at high levels were nothing more than selectmen or State Rep candidates when we started all of this. Now, many are State Senators and members of Congress.
Statists? Give 'em hell from the start.

5 peaceful activists were arrested yesterday, with 4 being released, unharmed, the same day and one (SamIam) being held indefinitely, for refusing to Cooperate.
SamIam refused to turn off his video camera in the Public Lobby of the Keene Courthouse. SamIam is a member of the Press, and the NH Law states he should have access.
The City of Keene broke the law by arresting him as well as the other peaceful bystanders for "Disorderly conduct" (standing and sitting in a Public Lobby, when they were told to leave, and they did not, because they could hear SamIam making sounds of pain behind a door, where they could not see) is not Disorderly Conduct. It's a game of Force and Control at that point.
In my analysis, this was a Bad Call/Misjudgement by the Policeman (who also doubles as a Prosecutor!), E. Rivera, who's known to have thin skin and a short temper.
At this point, the ball in SamIam's court. Until he requests an Arraignment, SamI am will be there indefinitely.
I think SamIam sees Officer/Prosecutor Rivera for what he is. I think SamIam is very upset and wants to make a point. And I know he's thinking of all his friends, who are allready in state, and who are getting Reved Up like a Drag Racer smokin' his tires before he pops first gear, flying forward at Break Neck Speed.
* I should also note that a Keene Sentential Reporter was there, who did not to leave the area, but was not arrested, unlike the others.

4 peaceful activits ... One non cooperative, Sam There's nothing violent about what Sam did. I'd classify his as also peaceful. From what I gather, they're keeping him in the cage until he begs to be part of their system. It's kinda sick, I don't understand the mentality.

I was trying to say 4 were released, I did not mean to imply Sam was anything but peaceful, as I was thinking everyone knew he was arrested for refusing to Turn Off his camera, but of course, how could everyone know if they started here! (My bad!). Changing ...now!
