Volunteers Needed -- Recruit at Gun Shows
« on: November 15, 2008, 10:21:47 pm »

Now is the HOT time to strike.

Can you use google and spend 30 minutes (or more)
Basically we need to find out if there are gun shows in 49 states between now and say March 30th.
We would need a person to 'own' a state get all the details about all the gun shows in that state.

I think a google Doc would probably be the best way to set this up.
we could share the google doc and then volunteers could pick a state and then fill it in.  (then maybe go to the next state)
Some states might be super easy (say HI and there might be no gun shows).
Then we can start calling the shows and see if they allow info tables.
Once we get this info compiled we can start 'working' the list to see if we can have volunteers across the nation to staff the tables.

If you are interested in doing this... send me a PM with you email address.

Hope this helps. Actual schedules would be pretty long. This is for Florida, of course.

Hey, Floridian, where abouts you live? I'm in Gainesville and often Sarasota. We should do a show together.

I'm in Winter Park and sometimes New Smyrna Beach.  I am really involved with three teenagers and family activities these days, so it would probably be unlikely that I could commit to "doing" a show.  However if you decide to do a show, I would like to know about it and help out if I can.

Yes you can, http://www.gunshows-usa.com/

BTW, Ammo and gun prices are still lots more than last year.  Attendance at gun shows is still higher than it has been over the last few years, and now is still a good time to recruit at gun shows.  If you need help with this, feel free to PM Dreepa or myself.

All you people out the wondering what you can do to help, this is the kind of thing that really helps.  You'll regret not doing more of this after you move.

We have the budget to have at least one gun show EVERYWHERE across the country every weekend... we just need volunteers willing to do it.

My husband and I may be able to staff a table at the Valley Forge Gun Show outside of Philadelphia.  It's being held on March 13,14 and 15.  This is a very big show and attracts hundreds of vendors and many thousands of visitors.  If we are free (I may have to travel for a family obligation) we can probably work it out to attend all three days.
