Raise $$$ for FSP by using Goodsearch
« on: June 29, 2008, 01:27:01 pm »

Its been a while since anyone's discussed this so I'm resurrecting the idea from the vault.

When doing internet searches---use goodsearch.com---type free state project into the "Who do you Goodsearch for" box--then verify.

Subsequently, each search adds a penny to the FSP's budget. Obviously, the more of us who use it (though don't abuse it) will stack up a nice monthly sum. Typically, this forum averages over 500 people/day... 1 search/person/day will really add up. This rate would pretty much bare enough to fund the FSP's monthly advertising+the sky is the limit. It's fast, easy, and you're gonna search anyway!

For all the new folks out there (and a reminder to the veterans) wanting to help the FSP raise money for advertising, here's an easy way to do it.

If you'd rather not have to remember to keep entering the FSP as the charity, here are links that automatically set the FSP as the recipient when you go to the homepage:

GoodSearch --  http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=811174

GoodShop -- http://www.goodshop.com/?charityid=811174

If you use Firefox or something and want to type a search and have it go directly to the results, use the following link:

http://www.goodsearch.com/Search.aspx?charityid=811174&Keywords=

This is a great idea.  I added it to my fire fox tool bar search box. I usually use google but this is powered by yahoo which is just as good. Also I'll be sure to use it for online shopping from now on...there's a long list of participating merchants - http://www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx - many that I already shop with anyway.

This is a great way for people to support the FSP even if you can't afford to donate, yet.

Rebel, please do me a favor.  Please talk up using Goodsearch at Porcfest.  Tell people why it is important and how to use it.  If they say that they will never use, feel free to stay that is fine.  But then, give them a gentle reminder of another website, http://www.freestateproject.org/donate  Wink

This is a great idea!  I search 30x a day a least.
Thanks!
