« on: April 19, 2008, 07:30:03 pm »

Hello everyone.

I am a  CCHEST certified Occupational Safety and Health Technologist (OHST). I have an Associates in Applied Sciences in General Industry Occupational Safety and Health, and a Certificate of Construction Safety and Health. I also have experience with NFPA Life Safety Codes. I am SCBA trained, HAZMAT 40 trained, and Asbestos Supervisor trained.

I have site inspection analysis and evaluation experience (including schools). I have worked for Bates College, L.L. Bean and MaineLabPack. I have two years of experience, graduated in 2007.

I'm looking to move up to NH (currently in RI) and I'm hoping to put my training to use to benefit the Safety of my community.

Please email me to receive my detailed Resume, and thank you so much for your time!

My sister who lives in Hollis (which borders Nashua on the west & Nashua is the "Gate City" bordering Massachusetts) has been in  EHS for 20 years says that it would be good for you to join ASSE and network through them.  She also says watch Monster.com which is where I think she's had some success before too.  She has not had success in NH finding jobs that pay well because the average size of business in NH is  less than 25 employees.  She goes on to add that some good consulting firms such as the SCOTT LAWSON GROUP or U.R.S. in Salem (also on Mass border) are a couple good consulting firms but adds that they may like some sales experience as well.
If you want to do construction, PIKE or Audley may be places to investigate further.  There is a new Asbestos firm in Epping NH which she says is very good...  In Massachusetts there are more jobs in this field but then you may end up paying the Mass taxes which are insane.  I know, I still live here and they don't call it "Taxachusetts" for nothing.  Bunch of slaves...  It's sad that this was the state in which the "Shot heard 'round the world" was fired, we've become such stupid forgetful people.   I guess now that we are all so dumbed down...  ok, I'll try to be more upbeat...
There is also some industry in Keene and some ASSE consulting firms.  There, you would be competing with Keene grads.
Don't know if that helped, but I called her today and read her your post to see what she had to say and if I could pass anything along from her experiences.  PM me if you want to get her direct contact numbers.  I'm sure she'd love to help even thought she's not necessarily "one of us" but she's still a smart one.
Velcro is also in NH.  I know the pay isn't great but I know she's worked there before too but she was less than thrilled with pay and working conditions.
Best,
Lumpy
