I've reserved a basic campsite for Porcfest. If anyone wants to share the site and split the costs, send me a PM. I can take 3 adults and I'll be there Sunday 6/8 through Sunday 6/15.

I've been trying to reserve a site today, but no one has returned my call (from Gunstock) yet. Apparently the FSP has sites reserved through the end of the week and I'm trying to get mine set in stone soon. I'll keep trying to get a rez this week, but if for some reason I can't get through to them--I might need to throw down with ya R-Jim. It will be me and my buddy and we're both 25. I'll report back and let ya know.

Sounds good to me. I couldn't get them on the phone either. I had to contact them through the online reservation.

Hello Jim, Still have 2 openings? First Porcfest for my buddy and me. We are driving and plan to arrive June 8th in the evening and leave June 15th in the morning. Hoping to join up with someone who has a site at Gunstock. Please, let me know. Erik Freeman 443-995-7618 efreem2@alumni.umbc.edu

Hello Jim, My replies to your hotmail email keep bouncing, my reply:
Thanks for getting back to me. Sounds good to me, even with the increased prices. If you can talk them down to their advertised price, all the better. I've forwarded your info to my buddy Sergio for confirmation on his end. Have you been to Porcfest before? Do you have a large tent or are we on our own for cover? Last time I was at a formal campsite, my friend had an old military tent that could easily hold a squad. Should have mentioned it in my post; are you or your buddy smokers? We are looking for a non-smoker site. Let me know. Thanks. Erik

I only have a smaller tent. It wouldn't hold us all, so you are on your own for cover.
No I don't smoke, so no problems there.
Oh, and this is my first Porcfest.

You can easily fit 2-3 tents on one site. The campground's official policy is no more than 4 adults per campsite, but I don't know how strictly they enforce it. Each area is big enough to spread out a few tents.

Last year they didn't seem to enforce it at all. The way it seemed to work is if you wanted to be able to drive a car into the camping area, you needed a pass and you only get one pass with each campsite unless you pay $5 for each additional pass up to four total. I managed fine without one last year. I just made sure to have someone with a pass with me if I needed to take my car in. It's not much of a walk and you can park your car on the gravel lot near the main buildings without a pass. It all seemed very casual. There is a gate for cars staffed during the day and automated at night but they never paid any attention at all to pedestrians. Even if they do decide to enforce it this year, it's nothing to stress about. You can always just reserve the sites for just one adult and then get extra passes when the time comes. They don't need to be reserved ahead of time once you have reserved a site.

I am relinquishing my excellent campsite location in favor of staying in a nearby cottage. The site is Poplar Field 5 and it is in the "party/social" area of the campground, near the Sakal/CAI fun tent. The location is very convenient to the lodge/activities area and to rest rooms and showers. The site has water and electric hook-ups. The cost is $210 for the week. You can pay me for it directly; otherwise I'll cancel it with Gunstock and it will go back into the general pool and may get assigned to a non-Porc. The cottage has space for an additional 2-3 persons if anyone is interested. It's 8.5 miles away, about 17 minutes by car, on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. It has 4 beds and a kitchen. Rent for the week is $825 divided by the number of nights/people. It's a great deal! No pets or indoor smoking. For more info email mwarden@freestateproject.org I also know of a good source of pop-up campers that can be delivered and setup on your site for $400-600 for the week. It's a good option for those without tents.
