Just curious to see what people in the Free State Project are. I myself would be probably a nonreligious panentheist, my definition of God is similar to the Hindu concept of Brahman.

I am a religious agnostic.
Contrary to what most people think, agnosticism does not require one to be atheist. Agnostic simply means without knowledge. A religious agnostic (or agnostic deist) believes in God, but understands that it is impossible to know if God exists.

I'm a Christian, but heavily influenced by process theology, which is of course panentheistic. A great book is Two Great Truths - a new synthesis of Scientific Naturalism and Christian Faith by David Ray Griffin.

We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done. - Jean Luc Picard

I'm a deist. Optimism prevents me from being an agnostic.

Optimism prevents me from being an agnostic. How does being an agnostic make someone a pessimist? The only thing agnostic goes by is realism. An agnostic acknowledges that one can't be completely certain whether God exists or doesn't exist, which is simply a fact. Agnosticism has nothing to do with what one believes or doesn't believe.

Deism is a good basis for Christianity. IMHO, Christianity's greatest flaw is that it (typically but not necessarily) posits the Bible as the only source of truth in a perpetually confusing world. Deists view creation as the word of God, and they reason that if one wants to understand God, one must study creation and use God's greatest gift to man, which is reason. A deist would never yearn for God to destroy his wonderful creation. Hey Varrin, you lurking around here somewhere?
