Y'all, It is my great pleasure to announce that Kate Rick has been selected as the 2006 Porcupine Freedom Festival......... Czarina?? See that's just the problem. We need a title for Kate. She's trying to think one up for herself, but having put up with Czar all year, I think it's only fitting that we bestow something sticky and goofy upon her. So let's show Kate just how much we love her by coming up with just the perfect title My short list: Czarina, Empress, Duchess, or Queen Let 'em fly! And while we're at it, give Kate a warm warm welcome and start volunteering to help her lots and lots (she'll need it!). V-

Look... I get it. I got Obama's point. It was "technically" correct. But it doesn't change the fact that it was a totally dochebag, dickwad thing to say to people who have done great things and deserve a pat on the back and not to be knocked down a peg just to serve his political agenda. -Dale

Will she be supplying the cheese to go along with Ward's chili?
I think that "greater" could be interpreted as "grater"
Although maybe that would work... something mindless like grating cheese would probably be relaxing, after the stress of organizing PorcFest...
And a few smacks with a sharp cheese-grater would probably bring just about anyone in-line...

It's not completely impossible that by next Porcfest the chili I provide will be served from a truck that the rest of the summer will be selling the stuff around the perimeter of Lake Winnipesaukee. For convenience of travelers along I-93, I'm now leaning toward Tilton rather than Laconia for the actual restaurant location. Most folks in Laconia seem to do their serious shopping down there anyway.

I'm assuming that all planning for Porkfest 2006 will be done with absolute zero concern for the NHLA Dinner.

Lloyd, the short answer is, "yes."
The long answer is that I can't promise absolute zero concern for the same reasons that I wouldn't schedule the festival for Fourth of July weekend or Memorial Day. I may have an informal chat or two about how best to avoid major conflict, but our location, our dates, and our schedule will be determined by the needs and wants of the FSP only.
For what it's worth, I have been and I remain adamant about the distinction between the FSP and any other organization, in NH or otherwise. I intend to uphold that boundary in regards to the festival to the best of my ability.

For what it is worth, I think the National Libertarian Party Convention is the week end of the 4th of July in the state of Washington or Oregon (?).

PorcFest Czar worked so well because it was one syllable and just rolled off the tongue. I'm thinking czar could be replaced by a certain word that rhymes with "witch", and I think Kate has the sense of humor to make that work. If that suggestion is unsuitable, how 'bout PorcFest Despot PorcFest Guru or how 'bout some alliteration? PorcFest Princess PorcFest Potentate PorcFest Pope Whatever we call her, I'm sure she'll do an awesome job, and I'm looking forward to going and convincing some family members to tag along as well.
