Slideshow: Girls Strip-Searched At High School Students said the incident happened two weeks ago inside the Mount Carmel Area High School after one student reported $27 missing. Two school resource officers then allegedly ordered the six female students to be strip-searched. A school gym teacher and a school nurse carried out the search, but the money was never found. Parents said they want the two school resource officers who allegedly ordered the search to be fired and replaced with school hall monitors. School officials said the investigation continues. "If at that time the board deems some type of action should be taken, I'm sure some type of action will be taken," said Ed Sebastian, Mt. Carmel Township Supervisor. "But for us to try to come out now and say it. It's just impossible." One father voiced parents' frustration. "You tell your children to put their trust in their parents, the teachers and the police," said Ed Dusendschine. "Okay, you took two out of three away now. Now all they have is their parents. What kind of a message does that tell the kids today." School officials said the school gym teacher and school nurse will not face punishment for their part in the incident. Thiis could be a shadow ad...... Plus, it is in Texas, which is fertile ground for us both in terms of members and media.......

This happened in Waxahachie, TX also. Joey's written a bunch about it. Waxahachie is within ~50 miles of Fort Worth. Maybe the two could be combined in a shadow ad.

Well, exactly what sort of campaign did you have in mind? Newspaper ads, TV/Radio spots? How much do you need to raise? I'll happily throw a few pennies in the bucket, but it would be nice to see a battle plan with some numbers attached. It might be easier to solicit funds if you had some defined objectives to target. And how are funds to be contributed? Through the same mechanism you used for Killington? Send it to the FSP with the additional .02 added to the total? Or do we use a different sum to route it to this campaign specificly?

We're getting advertising info now..... We'll let you know.. I think TV is the most effective medium, if we don't raise enough for that, print. Trust me. Keep donating. We'll spend your money wisely.. And yes, we will have a similar system to what we did for Killington. Not sure if it will be $.02 or another number.... JM

This is a bad sign...
A similar incident occurred a few years ago at my old school, Mahanoy Area. Mahanoy Area, being located in Mahanoy City, is only a short drive from Mt. Carmel (20 minutes).
Anyway, the incident I speak of actually deals with my oldest brother when he was in Intermediate School [8th grade, I think.]
Someone complained to the gym teacher that they were missing money. The obvious culprits were other students who didn't really get along with that kid, my brother being one of them. Actually, my brother was indifferent to the kid, but he was associated with the others that were being blamed.
The gym teacher brought the principal in, and then ended up having these students (again, including my brother), stand in nothing but jock-straps while their bags were searched.
Unfortunately nothing ever came out of it. Though my dad went into the school after the principal and the gym teacher and "promised" to rip their heads off if they ever did something like that to his son again. I remember eing told by some other students at later date that all of the secretaries locked themselves in other rooms, and all of the other teachers and faculty around left when my dad walked into the office.
Eventually there was a sort of half-assed "public" apology (within a more "private" audience, of course). Nobody ever went to the media or to the law... probably due to lack of trust in both in this area.
I might have carried things out differently, but then again, I'm not a father. I can't imagine being so calm if my daughter was put through that.

To accuse someone of shoplifting in California you must know what they have taken and where it is located on their person before even thinking about "asking for it back".....apparently things are different in government detention centers, like this one in Texas or others in Iraq

I have seen the freest among you wear their freedom as a yoke and a handcuff. And my heart bled within me; for you can only be free when even the desire of freedom becomes a harness to you, and when you cease to speak of freedom as a goal and a fulfillment. Kahlil Gibran
