Title: French Election
Post by: RP2016 on May 08, 2017, 10:53:33 am
A lot of people view the election of Macron as the death blow for France. I am curious if people on here view this the same way. The idea of bringing in a massive amount of people from a different culture and placing almost all of them on welfare seems like a moronic concept. Macron wishes to bring in the next large wave of immigrants. Does anyone else think this is the beginning of the end for France as we know it?

France being invaded by foreigners seems like business as usual to me.  ;D

I was for Macron. In general I am for immigration. If immigrants end up on welfare, cut welfare. Macron is also more free-market than Le Pen, who favors keeping France's system of repressive labor regulation and also wants to enact new tariffs. Macron is no libertarian, by a long shot, but at least he would make a few reforms to free up the labor market.

They should indeed cut welfare, but that probably won't happen. I don't have an issue with immigration, just the rate they are allowing it with people who don't speak French, have no job skills, and have a vastly different culture is the issue. Plus the average Syrian has an iq of around 83 so the odds of them falling in with radical Islam over assimilating to French culture seems high. Le Pen is certainly far from an ideal candidate though. Either way France is probably screwed in the long run.

Don't y'all realize Macron is a GLOBALIST? Don't you know Globalists are for One-World-Government under the Big Banks? And that that means Tyranny, Totalitarianism. And "Free Trade" is only free for the Globalists, not the little guys.

He's not a globalist; he's pro-EU.
