Rails to Trails, Mountain biking, Hiking and Tennis and low taxes?
« on: September 25, 2016, 08:20:46 pm »

Yes, we want it all.   So far our research which is almost all youtube and trail maps have brought us to Chesterfield just west of Keene. It seems to have everything on our wish list including clay tennis courts close by.  South of Lebanon will also be possible with the Northern rails trail but that area has been more difficult to get information on.  We love the town of Nashua too but too close to the power plant for us, high RE taxes and no long rail trails.   Any advise on Chesterfield or any similar areas with the charm of Nashua.  Also would like to be in driving distance to Keene for the activities.  Will be coming for a couple of weeks to check things out in the near future.

        Thanks

Chesterfield has somewhat higher taxes than average, but its house prices are affordable, so in terms of real annual housing cost, it's basically a wash. I've hiked there. Pretty area, close to Keene. Quite lefty politically, if that matters.
