Getting things set up for the move
« on: January 03, 2017, 01:45:41 pm »

Hey everyone,

I will be visiting a friend in NH within a month or 2 with the intention of staying if I can find immediate employment and housing. I've been searching apartments online and the cheapest price seems per month(Manchester area) seems to be $700+. Being used to paying $450 a month rent in my home state, this seems to be pretty steep; are there cheaper options? Also, I will be traveling with just some clothing and must have personal belongings. Are there places to purchase affordable used furniture and different things? Any advice is welcome. Thank you very much.

I hope you enjoy your visit. I've found things in Craigslist when I first came here that were very reasonably priced ($10 for a desk, for instance).

As for rent, there may be FreeStaters interested in renting a room, but they'll likely want to meet you first. Going to a new movers party (should it coincide with your visit) might be a good place to meet people and get more advice.

Thanks... How often are these new mover parties?

Once a month. I'm hoping we can start doing them in more than one place,  it right now they are only in Manchester.

If you have interest in living about 35 minutes outside of Manchester in a more country environment, my wife and I live in Deerfield and am going to be renting a room, or two (living arrangements are negotiable) very soon.  Price is also negotiable.

Feel free to PM me at JFrancisNelson@gmail.com and we can discuss further.

New Mover Parties are going to start happening in Concord now, too.
