Grafton is a place where there is a growing network of people focused on self-sufficiency, a number of which have gardens where they grow some or even most of their own food. A lot of the housing is cheap because it takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on where you are in Grafton to travel to the nearest job center in the towns of Lebanon and Hanover (location of Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hospital, and a large number of industrial and commercial facilities).
