NH secession could help international movers greatly
« on: February 03, 2009, 09:14:40 pm »

Getting federal government of your backs could be akin to throwing down a levy that may be holding many potential international movers from moving to NH. My best hope is a regular visitor for business visa (AKA tourist visa) which gets me only 6 months legal stay, but what then? Either I become an illegal immigrant (and thus not quite appreciated by even some so called libertarians) or I go back..

Seeing this I am a bit hopeful: http://www.nhliberty.org/bills/view?bill=HCR6&year=2009 and it makes me give some credit to the efforts of the politicos. It wont make the coercive monopoly that is the state of NH any less of a coercive monopoly, but federal government is far worse, far more dangerous, far more insidious and far greater of an obstacle for liberty loving europeans like me wanting to move in and help build liberty in our life time, and more. I dream big.

NH must secede, ASAP. Let that meme flow.

Either that or Obama+crew follow through on the scared blog posts some conservatives are making, and pass a seriously lax immigration amnesty bill.

If they do that it's just a case of rallying everyone and getting in and applying. It would work to counteract their goal of flooding the country with surefire Democrat voters (disadvantaged Mexicans).

A far-reaching amnesty bill, although farfetched, seems more likely than secession to me.. Although, obviously, secession would be ideal as the federal government is a serious thorn in the side to liberty. I almost hate them more than my own government already and I haven't even visited the place yet! :P

Whatever comes sooner I guess.. If the immigration amnesty bill helps, great.. but secession is on the table either way and preferable.

As long as the secessionists aren't xenophobes...

Updates on this HCR:—

http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=16820.0
http://www.nhliberty.org/forum/index.php?topic=1647.0

One link is broken, the other one is a forum even more empty than this one. Do we have any updates on this now, 4 years later?
