Free State Project Forum
New Hampshire -- The "Live Free or Die" State => Moving & Housing => Topic started by: Zeijandi on January 15, 2017, 11:02:36 am
I have haunted these forums off and on for years hoping one day to be able to relocate my family to New Hampshire and be with you fine people. I first heard about the Free State Project back in 2012 when you were often sponsored and mentioned on The Survival Podcast. Around that time, I read the '100 reasons to move to New Hampshire' list and I was truly fascinated. A couple days ago, I watched the movie on YouTube that the FSP made with the title and I was truly moved.
I have been working with a recruiter and will be flying to Andover, Massachusetts on Friday, 27 January to interview for a firmware engineering position. If all goes well, this will finally trigger our move to the Shire. I'm at once elated to have the opportunity, anxious about all the work and organization that will go into selling our home, finding a place to live, moving our two poodles, three cats, and whatever we choose to not throw away or sell. It's a large endeavor that we did just four years ago when I moved from Kentucky to Ohio for work. That was more of a move of necessity than choice.
I hope y'all still do the activities and move-in's and whatnot. Looking forward to the potential of this move. :)
Anyway, have to run. More later.

We still do all of the above. :) Email Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know of your move-in date! I'm assuming you'll be in southern NH? You might want to look into Hudson.
I'll definitely take a look at Hudson as we are certainly wanting as brief a commute to work as is tolerable while still residing in New Hampshire. My wife has searched for and found potential positions as an accountant(cost)/controller in Nashua. With luck, this moves forward. I'll certainly know quite a bit more after the 27th.
8) Good luck!
Hope it went well😎
It was pretty good. I was told 'xxx remains very interested in you. They have two more on-site interviews this week so we should have an update next week'. I also had a technical phone interview with another company Tuesday that I thought went fantastic, so I may be back in Boston soon for an on-site interview with that group.
It's already been a hectic couple of weeks. :)
I hope y'all still do the activities and move-in's and whatnot.
Yes. There is always TONS going on. Hard to keep track of it all.
My 2nd technical interview with company #2 went well. They want to bring me in for an interview in person. So, I may be flying back to Boston in the next couple weeks. lol. :)
I got this email yesterday from one of my recruiters:
"Jeremy did the best out of the three that came in last week, but there is one more candidate <manager> has a phone interview with this Thursday, and will bring in next week if all goes well."
So, I'm still in the lead. Fingers crossed. :)
I'll be in Nashua Thursday evening and Friday interviewing for a position there. I suspect everyone will still be digging out of the blizzard expected to hit Tuesday. Stay safe and warm!
I just accepted an offer in Nashua. We're moving to New Hampshire!
